Jardins Jardin

The Tuileries gardens in the centre of Paris once again hosts this quirky summer gardening event aimed primarily but not exclusively at city gardeners. Over four days this exhibition comprising five sectors: Gardens, Exhibits, Design, Project Space and Workshops, has something for everyone.

20 gardens, terraces and balconies have been erected and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the planting and discuss the designs with the designers. Over 100 exhibitors display and sell a huge variety of garden-themed accessories from ceramic containers to gazebos and parasols to fountains. An extensive programme of workshops and presentations are also organized. Cutting edge landscape architecture can be enjoyed in the Village du design d’extérieur while the Espace projets encourages design innovation under the theme of “the invention of a city in harmony with nature”. This is split into two sections a design competition for young garden designers and a display from a number of écoles supérieures showcasing the best projects from their students within the disciplines of architecture, design and horticulture.

If a trip to Paris is on the horizon for this weekend this is a not to be missed event.
